Ephemeral Objects

Wabi-Sabi is a beauty of things imperfect, impermanent and incomplete.
It is a beauty of things modest and humble.
It is a beauty of things unconventional.

These pieces were inspired by an old tin can, discarded and washed up onto the beach. It had been eroded by time and the sea and distorted so it could no longer function as a container. The faint traces of colour and text on the tin evoke a sense of mystery giving little clue as to its former use.

This ephemeral object was used to create ceramic “tins” and demonstrates the notion that ideas are everywhere around us and that beauty can be found in the simplest of things.
